Take part in the Consultation for a new Bishop of Oxford

The consultation into the needs and hopes for our Diocese as they seek our next Bishop of Oxford ends on Wednesday 4 February at 5pm.

The wisdom and consideration put into answering the questions in the online survey are greatly appreciated and give us a rich resource of views and opinions.

These will be used to inform the Statement of Needs document, which is the next step in the process.

There is still time to share with us your thoughts and, if you are aged 29 or younger or are living in Berkshire or Buckinghamshire, we would especially want to hear from you, as we have received fewer responses in those categories.

Alongside our survey, we are also asking people across the diocese to pray.

We’d ask for prayers for those working on this process, which will at least last for all of 2026; for Bishop Steven and his family as he gets ready for retirement; for Bishop Gavin and his family as he prepares to cover the vacancy; and naturally, for the person who will be called to this role.
