Children & Youth
Every Sunday morning during the main services at both Harwell and Chilton we have groups for children up to about age 14: Scramblers, Discoverers and Pathfinders at Harwell, and Discoverers and 'Check it out' at Chilton; there are also creche facilities available. On the first Sunday of the month and during school holidays, all ages meet together. Youth Fellowship, for young people of secondary school age meet on Sunday evenings.
Every summer we have a week-long holiday club at Harwell School for children of primary school age. Click here for more details.
We have various events throughout the year for children, for example around Hallowe'en, Advent, and Easter. More details to be found on this website and on the calendar.
The Rector and Curate regularly take assemblies at both Chilton School and Harwell School and are in involved in various other aspects of school life. 'Y-Club' is an after school club held at Chilton School on Thursdays, led by Rev Pam Rolls. The Rector is a Governor at Chilton School.
Affiliated groups
1st Harwell (St Matthew's) Scouts is sponsored by St Matthew's Church and has groups for boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 18 (Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers). Harwell Young Singers is a group for girls and boys, with a weekly rehearsal in St Matthew's Church and regular performances throughout the year.
